FMCSA to Hold Public Listening Sessions on Knowledge Testing Requirements for New Entrant Carriers, Freight Forwarders and Brokers

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) held a public listening session on Jan. 13, 2014, in Nashville, Tenn., to solicit ideas and information from interested parties on possible knowledge testing requirements for New Entrant passenger and property carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers.

Additional public listening sessions will be held:

  • March 28 at the Mid-America Trucking Show taking place at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky.
  • April 7 at the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s spring conference taking place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles.

Room locations and times to be announced.

The interactive listening sessions require no pre-registration. Attendance for the listening sessions are free. Listenings sessions will be webcast live at FMCSA officials will take online comments and questions from the public during the sessions.
