Canadian man airlifted after his semi-truck left the road on eastbound I-94

A 60-year-old Canadian man with serious injuries was airlifted by helicopter to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after his semitrailer left the road as he drove east on I-94.

Emergency crews were dispatched to eastbound I-94 near the Michigan Avenue exit at 4:52 p.m. Monday, July 22 for a single-vehicle crash.

The driver of the vehicle told officers that he was trying to avoid something in the road when he swerved and lost control of his truck, Jackson County Sheriff Sgt. Bryan Huttenlocker said.
