Government Shutdown Not Affecting FMCSA, Trucking Regs

While most federal programs and agencies have shuttered their windows and bolted their doors, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has kept the lights on, and the enforcement of trucking regulations active.

Overdrive Magazine reported, “Enforcement of trucking regulations and the operation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration will not be affected by the federal government shutdown that began Oct. 1, says the Department of Transportation in its shutdown plan.”

Since Oct. 1, when the federal shutdown began, the FMCSA has reported on four state disaster declarations affecting national carriers, and has issues notices on carrier registration.

Monitor the FMCSA site for current updates on regulations and activity. This government agency is open for business.
